Privacy policy

The short version

  • We keep your Minecraft name and progress so the server works.
  • We never sell your info and show no tracking ads. The only cookies here come from Google Analytics, which we use to count visits.
  • Web accounts are optional: just an email, a 13+ checkbox and your linked Minecraft name. Delete it yourself anytime.
  • Offers by email only if you said yes at checkout, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
  • Don’t share your real name, address or phone number in chat.
  • Want your data or want it gone? Email us any time.

Who we are

CHEAT SMP is a Minecraft Java Edition server and website run by [Owner or company name]. You can reach us at [privacy@your-domain]. CHEAT SMP is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

Who CHEAT SMP is for

CHEAT SMP is for players 13 and up. To buy anything you must be 18 or older, or have permission from the person who owns the card or account you pay with. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

What we collect

When you play on the server

  • Minecraft username and account ID (UUID). To load your character, powers, items and Patches.
  • Game progress. Powers unlocked, Patches, Cheater Cash, Gems, claims, items, playtime, event results and achievements.
  • IP address and connection logs. To keep the server secure, block cheaters and alt-account abuse, and fix problems.
  • Chat messages and reports. Public chat and the reports you send with /report, so staff can keep the server safe.
  • Referral codes. Who invited whom with /refer, so both players get their reward.

When you visit the website

  • Usage counts. Which pages and buttons are used, so we can make the site better. Our own counts use no cookies, no ad trackers and no fingerprinting, and we don’t store your IP address with them. To count steps in one visit, your browser makes up a random number that is deleted when you close the tab. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies, and Google Analytics, which sets cookies to recognize returning visitors and sends usage data, including your IP address, to Google. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”, none of these count you at all.
  • Things saved only in your browser. Your sound setting, item collection and Minecraft name for the skin preview stay on your device. We can’t see them.
  • Skin preview. If you type a Minecraft name on the store page, your browser loads that player’s public skin picture from mc-heads.net. We don’t store the name.

If you make a web account

  • Email and password. Your password is stored scrambled by our login provider (Supabase); we can’t see it. Your login session is saved in your browser so you stay signed in.
  • That you’re 13 or older (a checkbox, no birthday) and whether you want offer emails. You can change that anytime on your account page.
  • Your linked Minecraft account. If you link one with /link, we connect it to your web account so you can see your stats and purchases.

You can unlink Minecraft or delete your web account yourself at any time on the account page. Deleting it removes your email and login; your game progress and purchase records stay on the server.

When you buy something

Purchases go through Stripe, our payment provider. They collect the card or wallet details; we never see them. We receive the Minecraft name the item is for, what was bought, the amount, the order number, the payer’s email and name, and whether the payer agreed to get offers from us.

How we use it

To run the server, website and store: saving progress, delivering what you bought, giving rewards, stopping cheating and abuse, answering support and safety questions, and counting what features get used. If you agreed to offers at checkout, we may email you the occasional deal, one email per person, each with an unsubscribe link. We don’t use your information for third-party advertising or to train AI models.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run CHEAT SMP, under written promises to keep it secure and use it only for us:

  • [Server host], which runs the Minecraft server and stores game data.
  • [Website host], which serves this website.
  • Snowflake, our analytics database, which stores anonymous website counts and game statistics for staff.
  • Google Analytics, which measures how people find and use this website, using cookies.
  • Vercel Web Analytics, which counts website visits without cookies.
  • Stripe, which handles payments for plans and packs, emails receipts, and runs the page where you manage or cancel a plan. We never see card numbers.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.

Your choices and rights

At any time you can ask us to show you the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it (deleting closes your CHEAT SMP progress). You can stop offer emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them. Email [privacy@your-domain] with your Minecraft name. We’ll check it’s really you before changing anything, and reply within 30 days.

How long we keep it

  • Game progress and username: while the account is active, and deleted 24 months after the last time the player joined.
  • IP addresses and connection logs: 90 days, or longer only for an open ban or safety case.
  • Chat logs: 30 days.
  • Reports and moderation records: 12 months after the case is closed.
  • Purchase records: as long as tax law requires (usually 7 years), without game data attached.
  • Anonymous website counts: 25 months.

How we protect it

We keep a written security program: staff tools need a login, data is stored on secured servers, admin actions are logged, payer emails are hidden in staff tools unless someone needs them (and that’s logged too), and we review our safeguards at least once a year. [Name or role of the person responsible] is responsible for it.

Chat safety

Public chat can be seen by other players. Our rules say never to share personal details there, and staff remove messages that do. Report anyone with /report.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your information in a big way, we’ll tell you first.
