01How we built this list
We run CHEAT SMP, so we're not neutral, and we won't pretend to rank ourselves first. This list is sorted by playstyle, not score. Every competitor detail comes from a public source listed at the bottom. We don't quote player counts here because they swing hour to hour.
Addresses change. Check a server's official site or listing before you join. Some of these servers run several game modes; we only describe their SMP-style side.

03Economy and lifesteal servers
DonutSMP. Run by YouTuber DrDonut, per Sportskeeda, with Java and Bedrock access. The community wiki describes Money, a premium Shards currency, /sell, an auction house and buy orders. Great if trading is your endgame.
LifeSteal SMP. Its MinecraftServers.org listing describes a semi-vanilla server with half-heart steals, a 20-heart cap and a 10-heart floor, raiding allowed, weekend events, and Bedrock at be.lifestealsmp.com.
Lifesteal.net. Sportskeeda describes it as a competitive lifesteal server managed by YouTuber ParrotX2, with active PvP and leaderboards.
FreshSMP. Sportskeeda notes frequent resets, Java and Bedrock support, staff events, and separate Survival and Lifesteal realms.
04Community and classic survival
CraftYourTown. Per Sportskeeda: a player-run economy with towns, shops, dungeons, custom plugins and regular events.
OG-Network. Sportskeeda describes a nostalgic take on early survival with no pay-to-win, owned by YouTuber TheMisterEpic.
Minehut SMP. Minehut's official SMP lists land claims, an economy, dungeons, and Jobs and Skills, with Java and Bedrock crossplay on the network.
Hypixel SMP. Not public, but worth knowing. Hypixel Support says VIP+ players can create vanilla SMP worlds, and the Hypixel Wiki says owners can invite up to 20 players.
05Anarchy and something different
2b2t. Wikipedia says it was founded in December 2010, has never been reset, and has almost no rules, so griefing and hacked clients are allowed. It runs Java 1.21.4 and has supported Bedrock cross-play since December 2025. Expect a queue.
CHEAT SMP (our server). Disclosure: we run it. It's a Java 26.3 SMP where you earn real cheat powers like Dash, Short Flight and Shockwave with Patches. Powers cost Heat, and overheating with PvP on makes you WANTED. It also runs lifesteal: an opted-in PvP kill steals 1 heart, with a 5-heart floor, a 20-heart cap and no bans. There's a nightly Reality Crash event at 7 PM Central and a market that scales with player count. Powers are never sold. It opened Oct 30, 2026, so it's new. Read the cheats list or the guide.
06How to choose
- Want to trade and get rich? DonutSMP, or the CHEAT SMP economy.
- Want high-stakes PvP? A lifesteal server, or CHEAT SMP's opt-in PvP, which steals hearts but never drops you below 5.
- Want to build a town? CraftYourTown or the Minehut SMP.
- Bedrock player? Most picks above support it. CHEAT SMP doesn't yet.

07What to check before joining any SMP
- Edition and version. Java, Bedrock or both? Some servers support a range of versions, others only the latest.
- Account type. Premium-only servers block cracked accounts, which helps against alts.
- Anti-cheat and rules. Anarchy allows hacks. Most SMPs ban them. Read the rules page.
- What the store sells. Cosmetics only, or gameplay items too? Check the store yourself, not just the marketing.
- Grief protection. Look for claims if you plan to build big.
- Chat safety. Filters, mutes and a report command matter, especially for younger players.

Which SMP servers support Bedrock?
Per our sources, DonutSMP, LifeSteal SMP, FreshSMP, Minehut and 2b2t support Bedrock. CHEAT SMP supports Bedrock too, through Geyser.
Are there SMP servers with no pay-to-win?
Sportskeeda describes OG-Network as no pay-to-win. On CHEAT SMP, powers can't be bought; the store is cosmetic and convenience only.
What's the oldest SMP-style server still running?
2b2t was founded in December 2010 and, per Wikipedia, has never been reset.
