Most Wanted: how the WANTED system works on CHEAT SMP

You go WANTED on CHEAT SMP when you overheat in Survival with PvP on. For 180 seconds you're hunted: you glow for 60, hunters within 300 blocks get pinged, and killing you pays a server bounty of 250 to 1,000 Cheater Cash.

01How do you go WANTED?

Two conditions: PvP is on (/pvp) and you overheat in Survival. Heat caps at 100, and every power adds to it. If PvP is off, you can't go WANTED at all. The Heat system page has every power's cost.

The fastest way in is Short Flight: at 45 Heat, one flight from 56 or higher crosses the cap. The slowest is Ore Ping at 20.

02How big is the WANTED bounty?

When someone makes a valid kill on a WANTED player, the server mints a bounty: 250 Cheater Cash, +100 for each extra overheat while WANTED, capped at 1,000. All of it scales with the market index.

WANTED players can also drop stolen Cheat Charges: Echo Shard items that hold a power use.

03Surviving 180 seconds as the target

  • Don't overheat again. Every extra overheat adds 100 to your price.
  • Use the first 60 seconds to move. You glow for 60 seconds. After that, hunters still have the ping but you're not lit up.
  • Break the 300-block radius. Hunters outside it don't get pinged.
  • Shift within the 64x64 box. The ping shows an area, not a point. Move inside it and they have to search.
  • Don't log off or hide in the hub. The timer freezes there. You have to survive it in Survival.

The anti-farming rules also cap Cheat Charges at 3 per hour.

04Hunting WANTED players

Run /wanted to see targets. If you're within 300 blocks, follow the compass ping into the 64x64 area. The distance readout rounds to 50m, so slow down when it starts dropping. Watch the target's Heat bar under their name: a player near 100 is out of powers they can safely fire, and one more overheat makes them worth 100 more.

Good hunter kit: Dash to close distance, Shockwave to stop them running, and Short Flight to cross terrain they used to lose you.

A hunter with PvP on can go WANTED too. Chasing someone with Short Flight and Shockwave stacks 80 Heat fast, so keep your own bar in check or the hunt flips.

05Anti-farming rules

The bounty isn't free money for friends trading kills. A WANTED kill only pays when:

  • The victim has 2 hours of playtime and 25 lifetime Patches.
  • It's not a revenge trade within 30 minutes.
  • The same killer hasn't been paid for the same victim in the last 24 hours.
  • Max 3 charges per hour.
  • Killer and victim aren't on the same IP.

06Season 1 is called Most Wanted

Season 1 "Most Wanted" runs Dec 1, 2026 to Feb 8, 2027. The top bounty hunter earns the "MOST WANTED" title; everyone who takes part gets "S1 SURVIVOR". There's a bounty leaderboard. Big moments, including WANTED events and bounty claims, land in the Hall of Infamy automatically. More on seasons.

07Why WANTED exists

Powers on CHEAT SMP cost Heat so they can't be spammed for free. WANTED is the consequence for pushing it too far with PvP on. It turns a mistake into a short manhunt: 180 seconds, a glow, pings to nearby hunters and a price that grows if you keep overheating.

It's also opt-in from both sides. Only players with PvP on can go WANTED, and only players with PvP on can fight them. If you want to use powers freely with no risk of being hunted, keep PvP off. That also keeps your hearts safe: since Oct 31, 2026, an opted-in PvP kill steals 1 heart, so a WANTED player can lose a heart as well as the bounty, though never below 5. If you want the chase, turn it on.

08Common WANTED mistakes

  • Overheating again while WANTED. +100 on your head each time.
  • Hiding in the hub. The timer stops; it doesn't finish.
  • Hunting a fresh account for cash. Under 2 hours of playtime or 25 lifetime Patches, the kill doesn't pay.
  • Treating the ping as exact. It's a 64x64 area.

Turn PvP on when you're ready and see how long you last. Server: play.cheatsmp.dev. Want to put your own price on someone? See player bounties.
