01What does Short Flight do?
Short Flight gives you 5 seconds of flight, server-side, in normal Survival. No creative mode, no client mod. You fire it with /cheat use or the Cheat Remote, the same as every other power on the cheats list.

The key ratio: 5 seconds in the air, 30 seconds of cooldown. You're grounded five-sixths of the time, so every flight needs a plan for where it ends.
02How do you unlock Short Flight?
Earn 40 Patches. Patches come from daily contracts, Reality Crash events and opted-in PvP wins, with a daily cap of 60. That puts Short Flight inside a single capped day of earning. First-week players also get +50% Patches as a catch-up boost.
Ghost Bridge (25 Patches) is the only power unlocked before it on the Patch track. Short Flight also shows up in two Cheat Packs: Speedster (free) and Explorer (100 Patches).
03How many flights fit in 100 Heat?
Two. At 45 Heat each, two flights stack to 90 and a third would hit 135. Since the cooldown is 30 seconds, you can't fire them closer than half a minute apart anyway, and Heat cools during that gap.

Fired on cooldown, Short Flight pushes 45 Heat every 30 seconds, or 90 per minute. Same rate as spamming Dash, but in two big chunks instead of five small ones.
04How to use Short Flight well
- Fly from a cool bar. Flight is a 45-point commitment. Start it under 55 Heat and you can still fire it without crossing 100.
- Chain Dash after landing, not before. Flight first, then Dash on the 12-second cooldown, spreads the Heat while you keep moving.
- Pick the landing before takeoff. Five seconds ends fast. If you're high up when it ends, you fall.
- Pair it with Rocket Boots. The Speedster pack's Rocket Boots give Feather Falling IV and Double Jump any time, which softens the end of a flight.
- Use Ghost Bridge as a landing pad. A 5-block bridge that lasts 8 seconds is a place to touch down. Flight + Bridge is 70 Heat.
05Legendary Flight: the one-of-one version
Exactly one Legendary Flight exists on the server. The holder gets 30% less Heat and a 25% shorter cooldown on Short Flight, plus a particle effect and a star on their name.

06Short Flight or Dash: which one for the job?
Both are movement powers, but they solve different problems. Dash is horizontal and instant: 7 blocks, done. Short Flight gives you 5 seconds of control in the air, which is what you need for height, for steering around obstacles, or for crossing something wider than one burst.

07Short Flight and going WANTED
With PvP on, overheating in Survival makes you WANTED for 180 seconds. Short Flight is the power most likely to tip you over because one use eats 45% of the bar. If you're sitting at 60 Heat with PvP on, one flight takes you past 100. Check the bar under your name or in the tab list before you take off. Full rules: Heat system.
08Common Short Flight mistakes
- Flying at 56+ Heat with PvP on. 56 + 45 crosses 100 and starts a WANTED timer.
- Treating it like elytra. It's 5 seconds. Plan short hops, not long trips.
- Burning it as an opener in a fight. The 30-second cooldown means you won't have it when you need to leave.
- Trying it in the hub. Powers are blocked in safe zones and the hub.
