02How do you pick Speedster?
During the tutorial, after you mine 10 ores, you choose a pack. Speedster and Miner are the free ones. Use /pack to see your packs. If you already like how Dash feels from the start of the tutorial, Speedster builds the whole kit around that feeling.
Speedster is a good fit if you plan to explore, travel between your base and other players' builds, or get into PvP later. Every one of its cheats is about getting somewhere or getting away.
03The movement stack: what each piece covers
Speedster's four cheats and the boots each solve a different movement problem. Here's the core-power side with listed numbers:

Rocket Boots carry Double Jump and Feather Falling IV as a worn item, and no Heat cost is listed for them. That makes them your free movement, and Dash and Flight your paid-in-Heat movement.
04Speedster Heat budgeting
Dash and Short Flight are the two most Heat-hungry powers per minute: each one pushes 90 Heat a minute when spammed on cooldown. A Speedster who fires both freely overheats fast. Budget it:

- Use Double Jump for small gaps and ledges, not Dash.
- Use Dash for the gaps Double Jump can't clear.
- Use Flight only for the moves nothing else can make.
- With Feather Falling IV on, a flight ending a little high costs less.
05Leveling Speedster
Packs level up as you mine, double-jump and use powers. Rocket Boots give Double Jump any time, so a Speedster racks up double-jumps just by moving around. Pack Level 10 earns the PACK LEGEND title.
Using powers also counts toward pack levels, and Speedster's list includes two of them, Dash and Short Flight. A Speedster who travels with Dash and hops with Double Jump is leveling in two ways at once.

Speedster has the most movement in its list by a distance, and it's free. Explorer trades some of that for range and a combat power. If moving fast is how you like to play, Speedster is the obvious first pick.
07Speedster in PvP and WANTED
With PvP on, overheating in Survival makes you WANTED for 180 seconds. You glow for 60, and hunters within 300 blocks get pinged to a 64x64 area. A Speedster's out is mobility, but mobility costs Heat. Keep 18 Heat free for one Dash and lean on Double Jump, which has no listed Heat cost, while the timer runs. Dash Duels in the arena is a good place to practice.
The extra speed from Rocket Boots also matters here. It's passive, so it keeps working when your Heat is too high to risk another power. While the WANTED timer runs, steady speed plus Double Jump is a cheap way to keep distance.
08Common Speedster mistakes
- Dashing where Double Jump would do. You spend 18 Heat for nothing.
- Flight + 3 Dashes as a habit. 99 Heat leaves no escape.
- Taking the boots off. No boots, no free Double Jump or Feather Falling IV.
- Forgetting the 40-Patch requirement for Short Flight as a core power. Check /cheats for what you have.
