01What does Ore Ping do?
Fire Ore Ping and the server highlights ores within a 12-block radius. That's a sphere 24 blocks across centered on you. It's a server feature, which matters: real hacked X-ray clients are bannable here, and GrimAC anti-cheat runs on the server. Ore Ping is the allowed version.

02How do you get Ore Ping?
It's unlocked from the start alongside Dash. The tutorial asks you to mine 10 ores early on, and Ore Ping is the obvious way to find them fast. After the tutorial, it stays in your kit for good. See every power on /cheats.
03How to mine with Ore Ping
The radius sets your route. A ping covers 12 blocks in every direction, so pinging again from the same spot wastes 20 Heat. Move about 24 blocks between pings and each one scans fresh rock.
- Ping, then mine everything it shows.
- Tunnel roughly 24 blocks in one direction while the 30-second cooldown runs.
- Ping again. You're now scanning a new area with almost no overlap.
- Every fifth ping, check your Heat. Five stacked pings is exactly 100.
Thirty seconds is a long cooldown, so the power works best while you're actually moving. Standing still and waiting for it is the slow way.
04Your first hour with Ore Ping
The tutorial wants 10 ores mined, and using a power during the tutorial pays +5 Patches, so Ore Ping does double duty right away. After that, the routine is simple: ping, mine, move about 24 blocks, ping again.
Ore Ping pairs well with Dash for getting around underground. Dash + Ore Ping is 38 Heat, so two of each is 76 and you still have room for an emergency Dash. Drop what you mine into a Sell Chest, which sells automatically every 60 seconds, and put the cash toward tool upgrades (/tool, 5 levels) or the Blueprint Shop.

Since you can only ping every 30 seconds, five pings take at least two minutes, and Heat cools during that time. Spammed on cooldown, Ore Ping adds just 40 Heat per minute, the lowest rate of any core power. That's why it's the power you can run all session if you're not mixing in Short Flight.
Mixing? Ore Ping + Dash is 38. Ore Ping + Ghost Bridge is 45, useful for crossing a ravine to reach the ores you just pinged.

Two Cheat Packs carry their own X-Ray tools. Here's what's listed for each:

Ore Ping has the shortest base cooldown. The Goggles reach twice as far but come around half as often. Running Ore Ping with a pack tool gives you two scanners on separate timers.

Sell Chests auto-sell ores every 60 seconds. Base prices before the market index:

08Common Ore Ping mistakes and Legendary X-Ray
- Pinging the same spot twice. The second ping covers the same 12 blocks for another 20 Heat.
- Waiting on the cooldown. Mine and move during the 30 seconds.
- Using a real X-ray mod. Hacked clients get banned. Ore Ping exists so you don't need one.
