01What Cheater Gems are (and are not)
CHEAT SMP runs three currencies, and Gems are the cosmetic one. Cheater Cash is the main money: you sell ores, run Sell Chests, trade and bounty-hunt with it. Patches unlock powers and can never be bought. Cheater Gems sit in between: you earn them by playing, you can also buy them, and they only ever buy cosmetics and convenience.
That line matters. On CHEAT SMP, powers are never sold. Not for Gems, not for real money. Someone with 10,000 Gems has a better-looking character than you. They do not have a better Dash.

02Every way to earn Gems in-game
You do not need to spend a cent to build up a Gem balance. The free sources, with exact numbers:
- Just playing: about 1 Gem per day from normal activity.
- Tutorial: running
/sethomeduring the tutorial pays +5 Gems. Fastest Gems you will ever earn. - Arena wins: 3 Gems per real match win (2+ players, 20+ seconds), up to 10 rewarded matches a day.
- Cheat Cup: every Saturday at 6 PM Central. 1st place 15 Gems, 2nd 8, 3rd 4.
- The Rat: during Reality Crash events with 4+ players, catching the Rat pays 2 Gems to each catcher; surviving as the Rat pays 5.
- Reality Crash rewards: finishing nightly events can pay Gems alongside Patches and custom items.
A player who wins three arena matches a day and places in Cheat Cup on Saturday clears 70+ Gems a week without touching the store.
03What Gems buy
Everything in /cosmetics: name tags, name colors, chat colors, trails, pets, kill and death effects, power skins and auras. Power skins change how Dash or Shockwave looks, not what they do.
Gems also feed the Season Pass track (/pass) and seasonal cosmetic drops. If you want a specific look, check the pass first; a lot of cosmetics rotate through it before hitting the Gem store.
Gems do not buy Patches, powers, Cheater Cash, claims or homes. There is no way to cash Gems out, and no way to trade Gems to another player for Cash. That keeps the cosmetic economy sealed off from the gameplay economy, which is the whole point of a no pay-to-win server.
04Buying Gems: bundle and plan prices
If you want to skip the grind for a cosmetic, Gems are sold on the store via Stripe.

Monthly plans include Gems too: Cheater Plus pays 40 Gems a month, Cheater MAX 150, Cheater ULTRA 400. The one-time CHEATER rank comes with 20 Gems. Every store purchase also triggers a server-wide fireworks and 15-minute XP boost celebration for everyone online, so buying is never a private event.
05Gems vs Cheater Cash: which should you chase?
Different goals, different currency.
- Want to progress? Chase Patches, not Gems. Daily contracts, events and opted-in PvP wins pay them, capped at 60 a day. See Patches and progression.
- Want gear, builds and bounties? Chase Cheater Cash. The money guide covers Sell Chests, auctions and WANTED kills.
- Want to look different? Chase Gems. Arena wins are the most reliable free source.
Cash prices scale with the live Market Index. Gem prices do not. A trail that costs 50 Gems today costs 50 Gems when the server has ten times the players.
06Start earning tonight
Join at play.cheatsmp.dev on Java 26.3, run the tutorial, set a home for your first 5 Gems, then queue an arena match with /arena. The nightly Reality Crash starts at 7 PM Central and is the easiest Gem payday of the day.

How do you get Gems on CHEAT SMP?
Play daily (~1 Gem/day), win arena matches (3 Gems each, 10 rewarded a day), place in Saturday's Cheat Cup (15/8/4 Gems), catch or survive as The Rat in events (2 or 5 Gems), or buy bundles on the store.
Can Gems buy powers or Patches?
No. Powers are unlocked only with Patches, and Patches cannot be bought with Gems or real money. Gems buy cosmetics only.
Can I trade Gems to another player?
No. Gems cannot be traded, gifted in-game or converted to Cheater Cash. Gift plans and gift cards are sold on the store instead.
Do Gem prices change with the market?
No. The Market Index scales Cheater Cash prices and rewards; Gem cosmetic prices stay fixed.
