01Why claim and set a home early
CHEAT SMP gives every player a random personal spawn spot, so there is no shared spawn crowd to fight through. That is great for a quiet start, but it also means your base is wherever you build it. A claim keeps it protected, and a home gets you back to it from anywhere.
The tutorial even rewards you: setting a home with /sethome gives +5 Gems.
Claim before you build anything you care about. A chest of diamonds in an unclaimed chunk is a chest of diamonds anyone can walk up to. The order that works: find a spot, claim it, set a home, place a bed, then start building.
02How to claim land
- Walk into the chunk you want to protect.
- Run
/claim create. The chunk is now yours. - Use
/claim infoto check who owns the chunk you are standing in. - Run
/claim listto see all your claims. - Changed your mind?
/claim abandonreleases it.
Claims protect chunks, so think in 16x16 squares. Claim the chunk with your storage and farms first.
Not sure where a chunk starts and ends? Stand where you plan to build and run /claim info after claiming to confirm you are inside it. Expand by walking into the next chunk over and running /claim create again, as long as you have claims left.
03How to set and use homes

Set your first home inside your claim. If you end up with more than one, put the second at your main mine or farm.
Homes pair well with Patches progression. Once you start traveling with Dash and Short Flight, you will roam far from base. /home brings you straight back when your inventory is full.
04How many homes and claims do ranks add?
Every player can claim and set homes for free. Paid plans add extras on top:

05What happens when you die
Respawn order on CHEAT SMP:
- Your bed, if you have one
- Your home or claim
- Your personal spawn spot
You also get a 5-second spawn shield when you come back, so nobody can camp you on respawn. Place a bed inside your claim and you will always land somewhere safe.
06Choosing where to claim
Your personal spawn spot is random, so the first decision is whether to build there or move. A few things to weigh:
- Resources nearby. Water, trees and a cave entrance save you trips.
- Room to grow. Claims protect chunks, so pick open ground where neighboring chunks are free for later claims.
- Distance from friends. If you play with a crew, settle near them so homes and claims stay close.
- Private mining. Do not want to dig under your base?

08Base-building tips that use the rest of the server
- Place Blueprints inside your claim. Others cannot build into it, and the build stays protected. See the Blueprint Shop.
- Keep your Sell Chest in your claim. It runs every 60 seconds whether you are there or not.
