01Why play on a public SMP instead of your own server?
Running your own server for friends is fun until someone has to pay for hosting, install plugins, fix crashes and stay online so others can play. A public SMP skips all of that. You get events, an economy and moderation, and your group still has its own space inside it.
On CHEAT SMP, there is also something you cannot easily set up yourself: earned cheat powers with a server-wide WANTED system.
Your group also gets a bigger world to bump into. Other crews, a community city, WANTED players to hunt and a weekly tournament to win. A private server for four people cannot really offer that.
02Step 1: Get everyone in
- Java players need a paid (premium) Java account. Cracked accounts cannot join.
- Set the launcher to Java 26.3.
- Add
play.cheatsmp.devunder Multiplayer. - Each player runs
/survivaland does the short tutorial (or/skiptutorial).

03Step 2: Form a crew and meet up
- Create a crew with
/crewand invite your friends. - Everyone spawns at a random personal spot, so pick one friend's area as the meeting point.
- Use Dash, Double Jump (Speedster's Rocket Boots) and Short Flight to travel there faster.
- Once together, claim chunks with
/claim createand each set a/sethomeat the base.

Tip: the first friend to arrive claims the chunk and sets a home. Everyone else sets their own home once they get there, so the base is one /home away for the whole crew.
04Step 3: Split roles with Cheat Packs
Four packs, up to four friends. Each one covers a job:

Packs also show an aura and a name-tag color, so it is easy to spot who is who in a crowd. And because packs level up as you mine, double-jump and use powers, splitting roles means each friend levels their own pack faster by focusing on what it does best.
05Step 4: Trade and share safely
- Use
/tradefor swaps. Both sides confirm before anything moves, and there is no auction tax. - Pool money into one Blueprint, like a Triple Auto-Smelter, and have the Miner feed it. See the Blueprint Shop.
- Decide on PvP as a group. PvP is opt-in, so friends who want to build can keep it off with nobody able to attack them.

07Hunting or surviving as a squad
Friends who opt into PvP can play the WANTED system together:
- Spread out to hunt. Hunters within 300 blocks of a WANTED player get the compass ping. More friends spread across the map means more pings.
- Mix powers. One friend opens with Shockwave to scatter a group, another closes with Dash.
- Protect a WANTED friend. They have 180 seconds to survive. Escort them, and Decoy can pull mobs off them.
- Know the rules. Same-IP kills are blocked and the same killer and victim pay once per 24 hours, so you cannot farm each other for bounties.
Prefer chill survival? Keep PvP off and nobody can attack you. See the bounty guide if your group wants to hunt.
08Step 6: Bring more friends
Run /refer to use the referral system. Want to get a friend a perk? Gift cards and 30-day gift plans are on the store. Then load in together at play.cheatsmp.dev.

How do I play on a Minecraft server with friends?
Everyone adds the same server address in Java Multiplayer. For CHEAT SMP, that is play.cheatsmp.dev on Java 26.3.
Can I make a team on CHEAT SMP?
Yes. Use /crew for crews, and /cup team invite for Cheat Cup teams of up to 4.
Can my friends on Bedrock join?
Yes. Use address domination-approves.tun.ply.gg and port 53228 in the Servers tab. See the join page for console steps.
Will my friends be able to kill me?
Only if you both have PvP on. PvP is opt-in with /pvp.
